Often I am asked to describe my style. I like to think that I have my very own "style", one that doesn't fit into the prescribed definitions of what's popular these days.
We hear "Photojournalism" is in. "Traditional" is out. Posing is blaze'. So, what do I call myself?
My long background in editorial portraiture carries over into my weddings. I take the "magazine" approach. Set up a nice environment, maybe even a moment and then give my subjects something to do. Oftentimes, it is the moments that happen right before or right after that are the ones I love to capture. This photo of Brian and Julie happened when I asked Julie to model her dress for Brian. They were so close together and her spontaneous spin along with Brian's greatful gesture make this photo a winner in my book!
