Olive

We love them for so many reasons. They teach us how to love; unconditionally and every day with no reservations. They teach us the value of the simple things in life; a good meal, a walk in the woods, a swim and a stick. They devote themselves to us, even when we can't or don't love ourselves. They watch out for us ,they don't ask questions and they don't complain. Our lives are richer because of them. While we walk this lonely planet they are our forever faithful companions and we are theirs. We want them to live forever, but alas, they can't.
In memory of my little, loving Olive, our lifetime friend. Born sometime in February of 2001, passed to the great big dog bowl in the sky on January 21, 2009.

Christmas

Holidays. Family. Gifts.
This Christmas is a special, snowy one since we now live in northern Michigan. It makes for a different vibe- all draped in white with red globes and blue lights that illuminate the snow when darkness falls. It's dark alot too now. It helps to have a fireplace. So, we've carefully hung our stockings with care so that old St. Nicholas will soon be there...
I'm thankful for the life that I have, for the caring of friends of family, for the richness that tradition brings. These are my gifts and I look forward to a bustling and busy 2009!
